Alpha Chi Rho National Fraternity is happy to announce the hiring of Brother Derek Ortiz, (ΦΣΤ, ’19) as a Leadership Consultant. The Leadership Consultant supports Fraternity operations by functioning as the initial and primary contact for Chapters, Colonies, alumni associations, and campus officials through travel and routine methods of communication.

Derek graduated with a Criminal Justice degree from Kutztown University of PA in 2019. During his undergraduate days, Derek served as the Scholarship Officer, Ritual Officer, and Postulant Educator. He also attended the Northeast Greek Leadership Association (NGLA) Conference in 2017 and 2019.

Derek joined Alpha Chi Rho because he felt the same camaraderie he had with those in the armed services and he enjoyed having a family that was bigger than him. He embraced the Fraternity motto of “Be Men” and learned that our values must be lived not just during college days but throughout life.

Derek aspires to leave a legacy with the National Fraternity by challenging himself to cultivate better collegiate members. As a Leadership Consultant, he is excited to spread his knowledge and enthusiasm with those who are joining the Fraternity through the Colony experience or graduating from college from an established Chapter. While working for the Fraternity he hopes to become a better leader and mentor while continuing to learn about the history of both the National Fraternity and each individual Chapter.

Outside of the office, Derek excels as a mechanic in the National Guard and is currently attending a variety of schools to make him a better soldier and leader while in the Military. He also enjoys camping, hiking, and relaxing while playing video games or watching movies. After working for the Fraternity, Derek hopes to work for the U.S. Marshalls to continue serving his country.

Alpha Chi Rho cultivates a lifelong brotherhood where men challenge and inspire each other, through Character, Honor, and Integrity to improve themselves their Fraternity, and society.
